to produce several different types of shots (Driver, Iron, Wedge, Putter) and show
off their skills. Stage two is more of a Skills test and will be based on abilty,
attitude and score achieved in the skills test.
Details & Practice Tips
Stage 2 will be a longer skills test where you will be tested on your driving accuracy/distance
using 10 Chance Driving game and Flightscope radar technology. Also, your iron play
and short game will be tested using the "Par 18" short game. Both these tests/games
have details below on how to play so get practicing using your practice notebook
which you need to bring with you on the day.
10 Chance Driving Game
Pick two targets approx. 40 yards apart and try and hit ten balls through these
two points. If you get more than seven through the 40 yard target narrow your targets
to 20 yards.
The aim of this game is not to progress to the 20 yards target unless you
can get 7/10 through the 40 yard target.
Only hit a maximum of ten balls at each target with your driver and always record
your scores in your practice book each practice session.
"Par 18" Short Game Challenge
If you have a short game practice facility this is a great game to play and is used
and played by several European Tour Pro's. Use nine balls from different locations
and distances around the green, chip the balls to the hole and putt out. Record
your score for the nine balls in your practice book. A good score is 22, a European
player will average 20 at this game.
Practice Book
Buy yourself a small notebook that will fit in your bag. Every time you practice
put the date/time and record your score for the 10 Chance Driving game and "Par
18" short game. You can also use this for recording your putts per round when you
play and your scores.
Stage 3 (Approx. 30 Entrants)
Will be a Golf boot camp where the Judges will get to know the entrants better and
give the entrants more time to demonstrate their golfing skills, the golfing boot
camp will include intensive personal tuition to hone their golfing skills and win
through to the forth and final exiting stage.
